CAREERLINE - STIMULUS - APPROACH

Our approach to training consultancy and program methodology reflects the extensive
operations backgrounds of our trainers come from and our experience in corporate training.

Training must lead to +ve change - a change which can only come from inside out!

Most training approaches focus on adding to the body of knowledge of the participants by presenting FACTS.

Some others go deeper and present CONCEPTS. However, neither presenting FACTS nor CONCEPTS can lead to a change in thinking or behaving. Only when the deepest core of BELIEFS is shaken and addressed to, only then can realization occur. This realization, because
it comes from deep within will lead to a personal commitment to change.

The process which we follow involves the following phases:
THE TRAINING PROCESS CYCLE
PRE TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS

This phase involves spending time with the various departments of the organization to understand the present context. Time is spent with the Senior management to understand the strategy and business imperatives for the current and next 3 years.

Based on the initial discussions, we can assist in carrying out a training needs analysis or validate the analysis if it has been done. This will help the organization get an external perspective. The areas which need to be addressed are identified and prioritized based on the impact, urgency and trend the training initiative will have on the current year's revenues.

CUSTOMIZATION

Our philosophy is never to run a canned program but to tailor make and customize programs based on the profile of the participants and the needs of the organization. This investment of time and effort ensures that all programs will be very specific and focused to the needs of your company.

It also gives the trainer information and insight so that he can be perceived as an ' internal person ' and not an outsider.

Key to the process of customization is the strength which Careerline-Equitrain has in Research and Design of programs. This strength is reflected not only in concept development but in using interactive training methodologies

The process of customization which starts during the pre-training needs analysis stage can comprise of some or all of the following steps:

» meeting with a cross section of participants, managers and external interfaces like channel partners, customers etc.
» circulating pre training needs questionnaires and using inputs received to fine tune the program
» making field accompaniment visits with sales personnel to evaluate pre training standards
» making market visits to understand the business scenario
PROGRAM DESIGN AND VALIDATION

The next step involves designing the programs and putting together a complete Training proposal. Our focus would be to integrate the initiative across all levels and functions so that the entire organization moves forward.

We would actively involve the participants' managers / supervisors so that there is a commitment to the concept and process of Training. This would also help in the managers / supervisors carrying responsibility for implementation of learning's since they would "own" the program.

A presentation to the client's management team to validate the proposal and incorporate suggestions would be followed by firming up the schedule and finalizing logistics.

We aim to design programs to follow a structured learning pattern which is relevant to adult education and training. The stress is on inductive learning in which the participant takes the initiative for drawing out learning points and their relevance to his / her environment compared to deductive learning in which he / she is given the input in a general context.

POST TRAINING REVIEW AND LEARNING IMPLEMENTATION

One of the key concerns that an organization would have would be to ensure that the learning's of the training are implemented and benefits captured not only in a qualitative way but also to track quantitative parameters.

This would be built in at the design stage itself and would involve the use of structured questionnaires, meetings with managers and colleagues and monitoring performance parameters. A process would be built which would need the commitment of the participant, the participant's manager and the HR team to track and implement training benefits. ( e.g. the LEARNING DIARY )

The trainer can also make post training field visits to gauge the difference in the participant's approach, after the program. This activity can add valuable input on evaluating participants and assisting the participant's manager define development plans.

Not only do our programs follow the above approach so that learning is internalized but we as " internal trainers " would like to work with the participants post - training so that we can facilitate application in the work place.
